the weekends are here finally! i am looking forward to waking up at 11am instead of my 7am routine for the past week. so after 1 week of orientation at the austin i can safely say i think i made the right choice by putting it as my first choice for clinical school (and i was very lucky to get my first choice). its kinda hard to tell how effective their teaching would be since my official teaching only starts next week BUT the environment here is absolutely great : ) i really love the idea of getting revision tutes on the basic physical examinations by semester 10 students (i honestly think they taught us really well, and they were very kind to share their knowledge on what was important and gave us really good tips..at least, i felt we have a really good support not just from the clinical school but from the seniors as well) - and im not sure how supportive it is at the other clinical schools. i personally thought our dean, a/prof richard o'brien is very friendly and i guess he gave me the impression that he really cared..so hopefully he's really good. i am also thankful that i was allocated to my current group, i think we possibly could work pretty well together (I HOPE) (the president and vice president of AMSS is in my group! hehe)..and most ppl have only 1 clinical buddy...guess what? i have TWO : ) yay to that! after 1 week of being in the hospital, i think i've developed a syndrome - to hunt for free food in hospital and be paranoid about infection control (I LOVE the moisturizing lotion they provide in wards..its addictive!). i'll be starting on my first block @ the austin (haematology, oncology, infectious disease and breast) next week so..*fingers crossed* hopefully everything will be good and FUN : )
