i texted him to say "mummy says i am way cuter :P"
n dad replied "mummy is bias :P" <-- since when did my tech noob father knows how to type a smiley??!! (must be my brother...i refuse to believe my dad knows how to text a smiley..)
n now..to wait for my brother to actually send me a picture of the baby...
ps : a quickie good luck to the final year med friends who will be finishing their exams this week...I AM SO ENVIOUS : D
I'm finally an aunty! (2 days ago) - i've been an aunty a long time ago in relation to my cousin's children but this time, i am an aunty to my brother's daughter :)
no pictures to post up at the moment as i havent even seen the baby but im sure its a beautiful baby (every baby is beautiful regardless)
an addition to our small family ;) yay!!
ps : now i have an awesome excuse to buy those cute lil pair of pink nike shoes :)
today in gynaecology clinic, i was chatting with my mentor regarding "unique" names..
and i told her the most recent "unique" name that i heard was a guy named Dragon...
she was like WOW...but my Dragon was soon put to shame...because one of the recent babies that she delivered was given the most "unique" name that i have ever heard...
the baby was called...
ABCDE (pronounced as AB-SEE-DEEE)
now, that's WOW (definitely takes the prize)

Prof Permezel was asking me during a lecture today "What do you think you will die from Li Chia?"
and the first answer that came into my head was "Pregnancy" : D
but of course, I can't show my disinterest in O&G to the head of the department..just to make my life easier for the next coming 6 weeks :)

rant rant rant - im in my 3rd week of O&G and oh my, it is....to be polite, not nice... : ( the only okie part about this rotation is probably the neonate part which isn't even in its name O&G - it's the N (mini paeds).
the bad : i have no interest in seeing how other woman suffer - in delivery and during gynae examinations because it only reminds me of how i might actually be a patient one day. and O&G is basically a field of invasion of privacy - poking and proding into other ppl's ahem - not pleasant. the subject itself - physiology and memorisation. so far, i've came to a conclusion - O&G is a horrible reminder of how complicated we women are (in every freaking way...and we are so so breakable - think tears and prolapses)
the good : neonates are cute :) (omg since when am i a kids person...:S). it also reminded me of how wonderful and brave my mum is for going through 3 normal deliveries and of course, every woman who went through deliveries are superwoman because i honestly don't know if i can ever go through such pain...(if i ever do get pregnant - pls freaking give me an epidural even before 1st stage begins or knock me out on GA :P) . and every guy should always accompany their wife to the delivery suite because the things that a woman sacrifice for their family is undescribable through words alone, you really have to see it to see how scary it is...(i had horror images and screaming woman's voices hovering over my head before i sleep after my delivery suite shifts..SERIOUSLY)...
argh. how am i going to survive this rotation? i don't know...but at least i know you (LATTE) share the same sentiment with me regarding the vagina squads : P

a sudden cravings for msian food lead my housemates n i to come up with our very own 'msian nite' : D we had 2 other friends over - pg and ek (we also celebrated ek's be-early bday in my opinion of how a wonderful bday should be) happy be-early bday dumby! our menu for the night : main course - curry laksa & roti canai with chicken curry

i'm starting my final rotation for sem 9 - cardio, respi & gen med tomorrow @ the northern. and guess what? i am presenting in front of many many students tomorrow *gasp in horror* i am scared and stressed. but i am pretty sure i will be very glad when its over tomorrow night. so wish me lucks : )

i am going to miss...
- the times when i have absolutely nothing to do, nothing in mind, zero stress level
- waking up to the familiar environment
- being able to eat mamak/"tai pai tong" food for breakfast/lunch/dinner/supper
- shopping with my dearest mummy
- not having to walk to places under the hot hot sun
- can watch my dramas peacefully without feeling guilt of not doing any work
- my family (we're not perfect and my brothers are definitely not the type that would tell me that they're going to miss me, but nevertheless, today..while packing, my eldest brother walked over and passed me a red packet with no other words except take care..i honestly felt like bursting into tears :S - my siblings and i aren't as close as i would love us to be..but i know they'll catch me if i fall..)
- my friends (thank you for making my holidays so fun-filled! this time around, 90% of my friends are busy with work..and it's the first time i felt pretty pressured to start work too..oh well, my time will come. to those that i didn't get to meet - sorry! do keep in touch still..)
- walking around in shorts, slippers, sleeveless (but i'll probably still get to do this in melb with the psycho heatwave going around in melb)
- not having to manage my own finances, housework, cooking
if i continue to list..i am sure i will be so emofied..saying goodbye tonight will be twice as hard. hence, i shall stop..and think of all the good things back in melb : )
2009 will be tough (there will be no doubt about that - fellow clinical students would understand.) but hopefully, it'll be better than i imagine..

holidays are coming to an end. it's that time to say goodbye again. it's the 5th time already and yet i am still not quite used to it. at times i think - i only have 2 more years left as a student..abit sad : ( and at other times i think - omg, 2 more freaking years to go! so longgg!! anyway, not like i have any choice at the moment..so i'll just take it as it comes : D
so, here's goodbye to my family and friends in msia : ) take good care of yourself. and hope to see you ppl again soon (altho soon MAY BE dec 2010 - due to the lack of hols this year and a 4 weeks compulsory electives somewhere). thank you for the wonderful times and i will miss you! *hugsss*

i meant to upload pictures from my spore trip but due to the mega size files taken via chao's SLR camera n the ridiculously slow broadband connection in msia..i shall upload pictures from my new year eve's meet ups instead (taken via my ancient canon ixus i :P)
weili brought me to solaris, mont kiara for dinner @ ole ole bali - i actually thought the place was really pretty - environment wise, similar to the curve but more noisy clubbing places (if im right..). our dinner @ ole ole bali was really good as well..i think im starting to love indonesian food more n more - its spicy! i love their barley lime or watever they call it - barley + limau kasturi..alex was very kind to take many pics of weili and i : ) the company reminded me of new year eve's 2 years back, it was the same ppl..but this year we're missing derek (who is probably flying around the entire world at the moment)
after dinner, we picked wan jean up and headed to centrepoint for starbucks. we left the place within half an hour to the curve/1U (to be precise - the carpark between the 2 places) for fireworks with weili's friends. a good spot really to watch the beautiful fireworks : ) happy 2009 everyone! may 2009 be a wonderful year! : )
this is wan jean - she is my best friend from primary school. very smart gal whom im really glad that she's back in msia (penang to be precise)..so that i can meet up with her more!
